Project Overview

Angliss Hospital underwent a $112 million expansion to increase healthcare capacity for Melbourne’s outer eastern communities. The development delivered a new multi-storey building featuring a 32-bed inpatient unit, four operating theatres, a central sterile supply department and outpatient facilities.

Between 2023 and 2025, GENTEC supplied a range of healthcare sanitaryware and plumbing products to support the project’s clinical, accessibility, hygiene and maintenance requirements.

Project Requirements

The project required durable, practical plumbing solutions suited to a range of hospital applications, including:
• Clinical and accessible basins designed to support effective drainage and help minimise splashing.
• Detachable shrouds for a neat finish and maintenance access.
• Drainage components incorporating replaceable one-way valve technology.
• Tapware, mixers, shower systems and service-area fixtures.
• Water-efficient products for relevant applications.

GENTEC Solution

GENTEC supplied a coordinated selection of products from its STERISAN®, JETFLO, NUGEN, REBEL, CLEANLINE and OUTLET ranges.

The STERISAN® range included Type B clinical basins, Type C accessible basins with left- and right-hand shelf configurations, standard wall-mounted basins and matching detachable shrouds.

Featuring a rear offset waste and sloped bowl surfaces, STERISAN® basins are designed to direct water towards the rear outlet while helping minimise splash and aerosol generation. Detachable shrouds conceal pipework while allowing access for servicing and maintenance.

The project also incorporated GENTEC Stainless Steel Plug and Basin Waste with Replaceable One-Way Valve. The valve allows water to drain while providing a seal between the waste and basin bowl, helping limit the potential release of aerosols containing bacteria and biofilm from the drainage system into the handwash area.

Additional products included JETFLO pre-rinse units, NUGEN and REBEL mixers, CLEANLINE tapware, OUTLET spouts and shower mixers, supporting a variety of plumbing applications throughout the project.
