In hospitals, aged care facilities, food processing areas, and correctional facilities, even trace lead in a water system is a problem – which is why the GPURE® SMARTEC Plus range is built from Grade 304 and 316L zero-lead stainless steel, with 0.00% lead content.
Laser sensor technology replaces the infrared sensors used in standard commercial taps. The detection is more precise, false activations are less common, and performance holds up better in high-footfall environments with variable lighting.
Wall-mounted sensor plates (with or without spout) and hob-mounted 90-degree models are both available. Battery and mains power are supported across the range, and every model includes Gentec’s programmable hygiene flush to guard against Legionella in infrequently used fixtures.
No mains power on site? The GPURE® GENEVO runs entirely on battery.

• Manufactured from Grade 304 and 316L zero-lead stainless steel – 0.00% lead content, compared to up to 0.25% permitted in lead-free brass under Australian Standards
• Laser sensor technology replaces infrared, delivering more precise hand detection, fewer false activations, and consistent performance across all skin tones
• Highly corrosion resistant – performs reliably in harsh wet environments, aggressive water conditions, and facilities with high chlorine or low pH water supply
• Smooth internal waterways minimise bacterial harborage points, supporting infection control protocols in clinical and food service environments
• Built-in hygiene flush programming automatically purges infrequently used fixtures, reducing Legionella risk without manual intervention
• Designed for hospitals, aged care facilities, laboratories, food processing areas, correctional facilities and high-use public amenities
• Wall-mounted sensor plate models available with or without spout – suits both retrofit and new-build washroom configurations
• Hob-mounted 90-degree tap models available in Grade 316L for bench-mounted basin installations
• Battery and mains power supported across the range, with options for both proprietary battery and standard mains connection
• Sensor range, run timing and hygiene flush all adjustable post-installation via remote control – no downtime required
• Compatible with Gentec STERISAN® wash basins for a fully integrated zero-contact infection control washroom system
• WELS 6-star rated and Watermark certified – compliant with Australian Standards for commercial and healthcare tapware installations

While lead-free brass complies with Australian Standards, it can legally contain up to 0.25% lead. Zero-lead stainless steel contains no lead whatsoever. For healthcare, aged care, and drinking water applications, this distinction is critical. Stainless steel also offers superior corrosion resistance and longevity in demanding environments.
The range includes wall-mounted sensor plates (with and without spout), available in mains-powered, battery-powered, and proprietary battery variants. Hob-mounted 90-degree tap models in Grade 316L are also available in both mains and battery configurations. Sensor plate models are available in Grade 304 stainless steel.
Unlike infrared sensors that use a broad beam, laser sensors use a more focused and precise detection zone. This results in fewer false activations, more reliable hand detection, and better performance in high-footfall environments with unpredictable lighting. Laser sensors are particularly advantageous in clinical and food service settings.
Yes. The GPURE® SMARTEC Plus range is compatible with Gentec STERISAN® wash basins, creating a fully integrated zero-contact hygiene solution. This pairing is widely specified in Australian healthcare and infection control projects.
All GPURE® SMARTEC Plus taps carry Watermark certification and comply with Australian Standards. They are rated WELS 6-star, supporting green building certifications and water efficiency requirements for commercial projects.
Regular service and maintenance of the main operating parts are recommended to prevent product failure and prolong the life of the tap.
