Gentec FLOMIX thermostatic mixing valves are NSW Health Approved zone-level TMVs manufactured from Lead-Free DZR Brass with a chrome-plated finish, designed for recessed wall-cavity installation in Australian hospitals, aged care facilities and institutional buildings. Unlike point-of-use thermostatic mixing taps, FLOMIX valves condition the mixed water temperature for a zone or circuit of multiple outlets – satisfying NSW Health PD2015_012 requirements and AS/NZS 3500.4:2003. Six models cover the full installation scenario matrix: with or without cold water bypass, with recessed stainless steel enclosure, and with strainers, non-return valves and isolation valves included. For individual point-of-use thermostatic mixing taps, see TEMPSET Lead-Free Brass Tapware.

Choose FLOMIX – Your project requires a zone-level thermostatic mixing valve with NSW Health Approval, installed in a wall cavity with a stainless steel recessed enclosure and lockable lid – cold water bypass, copper tails, strainers or isolation valves pre-configured.
Choose TEMPSET instead – Your project requires a visible, lever-operated thermostatic mixing tap at an individual basin, shower or hob position – not a zone valve.
Determine whether a cold water bypass is required by the engineering design: If yes, specify MVLF60154 or MVLF60154H. If not, specify MVLF60153/60153H or MVLF5015/6015.
Select enclosure type: stainless steel recessed lockable enclosure models (MVLF60153 series) for concealed installation. MVLF5015 and MVLF6015 are supplied without a separate enclosure.
Select lid type: hinged lid (H models) if maintenance access and swing clearance are available; recessed lockable lid (non-H models) where space is constrained.
Confirm accessory inclusion: MVLF5015 includes strainers and non-return valves; MVLF6015 adds isolation valves; MVLF60153/60154 series includes copper tails.
Download the FLOMIX datasheet: confirm WELS registration, Lead-Free WaterMark licence number, and flow rate before including in the hydraulic specification schedule.
Gentec FLOMIX thermostatic mixing valves are designed to support the requirements and design principles outlined in the Australasian Health Facility Guidelines (AusHFG), providing controlled water temperatures and serviceable TMV solutions for healthcare environments.

NSW Health Approved means a thermostatic mixing valve has been assessed against NSW Health engineering policy PD2015_012, which governs TMV selection, installation, commissioning and maintenance in NSW public hospital and healthcare premises.
The MVLF60154 includes a cold water bypass in addition to the stainless steel recessed enclosure and copper tails; the MVLF60153 does not have a cold water bypass.
The H-suffix models have a hinged lockable lid that swings open on a hinge for service access. The non-H models have a recessed lockable lid that is removed completely for access. The choice depends on wall-cavity depth and maintenance team preference.
Yes. Under AS 4032.1 and AS/NZS 3500.4, thermostatic mixing valves must be periodically tested and calibrated to confirm the mixed water temperature remains within ±2°C of set point and the fail-safe thermal shutdown operates correctly.
Yes, the Gentec FLOMIX range is described as both Lead-Free DZR Brass and NSW Health Approved on all 6 listed models. Both certifications are distinct: Lead-Free WaterMark certifies compliance with AS/NZS 4020 drinking water contact material standards under NCC 2022; NSW Health Approval certifies suitability for NSW public hospital and healthcare premises under PD2015_012. Confirm both certification numbers from the datasheet before specification.
MVLF5015 includes strainers and non-return valves. MVLF6015 includes strainers, isolation valves and non-return valves. The MVLF60153/60153H/60154/60154H models include copper tails and a stainless steel recessed enclosure with lockable lid; the MVLF60154 series also includes cold water bypass. Confirm the exact accessory list against the individual product datasheet before finalising a hydraulic specification, as configurations can be updated between model revisions.
Yes. FLOMIX valves meet AS/NZS 3500.4, AS 4032.1 and carry Lead-Free construction applicable across all Australian states and territories under NCC 2022. NSW Health Approval provides additional assurance but is not a limitation on use elsewhere – FLOMIX can be specified in Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, the ACT, NT and Tasmania in line with those states’ plumbing codes.
No. FLOMIX is a zone-level thermostatic mixing valve for concealed wall-cavity installation, conditioning water for a circuit of multiple outlets. TEMPSET is a point-of-use tap with an integrated thermostatic cartridge at an individual basin or shower. In a correctly designed healthcare hot water system, both are typically used together – FLOMIX at the zone level, C at each point of use.
