Project Overview

Adeney Private Hospital is a purpose-built private healthcare facility developed to deliver patient-centred
care within a contemporary clinical environment. Located in Kew, Victoria, the hospital was designed to
support a broad range of medical services including surgical procedures, oncology treatments, radiology
and specialist care. The facility combines modern healthcare design with advanced clinical services,
creating an environment focused on patient wellbeing, operational efficiency and quality care outcomes.

Project Requirements

• Support healthcare hygiene and infection prevention objectives
• Reduce unnecessary touchpoints within clinical environments
• Provide basin configurations suitable for different healthcare applications
• Enhance cleanability and maintenance accessibility
• Deliver durable and reliable solutions suited to high-use healthcare environments
• Complement the hospital’s contemporary design and patient-centred spaces

GENTEC Solution

GENTEC supplied a range of healthcare handwashing solutions designed to meet the differing functional
requirements throughout the facility, including:
• Type A Clinical Basins with Rear Offset Waste
• Type B Clinical Basins with Rear Offset Waste
• Type C Accessible Basins with Rear Offset Waste
• Detachable Shrouds
• Sensor Plates with Spouts
The supplied solutions provided application-specific basin configurations across healthcare spaces, with
sensor-operated tapware reducing physical touchpoints at handwash stations.
GENTEC STERISAN® basins feature a rear offset waste design, specifically developed to position the waste
fitting away from the direct water stream to minimise water impacting directly into the drain outlet. This
design assists in reducing conditions that may contribute to splash and aerosol generation during use.
The basin design also incorporates sloped bowl surfaces that support effective water drainage towards the
rear waste outlet.
The detachable shroud system encloses pipe fittings while providing convenient access to the drainage
system for servicing and maintenance. Designed to recess into the underside of the basin with no gap, the
shroud can be easily removed to access and clean P-traps, supporting regular maintenance procedures
and assisting the removal of biofilm build-up.
