The CLEANLINE tap body accepts 100mm lever, 150mm lever, and capstan handles interchangeably — the same SKU can be converted between an accessible bathroom lever and a general washroom capstan without changing the body. Gentec’s 150mm option is available across both lever ranges without a special-order lead time.
  • Lead Free WaterMark certification is held, not in progress. The 1 May 2026 NCC 2022 deadline has passed. Gentec’s lead-free brass and Grade 316 stainless products carry current Lead Free WaterMark certification at date of supply — specifiers can provide certificate numbers in project documentation without requesting them in advance.
  • Grade 316 stainless across the waterway, not just the external body. Some competitors offer stainless-looking tapware with brass internals and a chrome finish. Is lever tapware required for accessible bathrooms?

Yes. DDA/AS1428.1 requires lever-operated tapware in accessible bathrooms because levers require less force to operate and support compliant hand-wash function. Capstan tapware does not meet DDA/AS1428.1 requirements.

Is capstan tapware DDA compliant?

No. Capstan tapware uses turn-handle operation and does not meet DDA/AS1428.1 accessibility requirements. Lever tapware -either Cleanline Lead-Free Brass or GPURE® Cleanline Stainless – must be specified for accessible bathrooms.

What is the difference between lead-free and zero-lead tapware?

Lead-free tapware (≤0.25% lead) meets the NCC 2022 lead-free standard for potable water contact. Zero-lead tapware (0.00% lead) -as used in GPURE® Cleanline Stainless – exceeds this standard and is specified for clinical environments where the highest hygiene is mandatory.

Which material is best for hygiene-critical environments?

What is the difference between capstan and lever tapware?

Both handle types are available in the CLEANLINE range.

Which Gentec tapware supports DDA/AS1428.1 compliance?

Both the Cleanline Lead-Free Brass Lever and GPURE® Cleanline Grade 316 Stainless Lever ranges support DDA/AS1428.1-aligned lever operation when installed per the standard’s guidelines. Capstan tapware does not comply with DDA/AS1428.1 and cannot be used in accessible bathrooms.
