Project Overview

Matilda Nepean Private Hospital is a purpose-built 90-bed sub-acute healthcare facility located in Kingswood, NSW. The hospital provides high-standard specialist services across rehabilitation, medical and geriatric care, mental health and NDIS programs within a purpose-built healthcare environment.

GENTEC worked closely with the project architect, Nicholas Christo of Christo Architects, and the client's Healthcare Management team to identify and deliver suitable sanitaryware and tapware solutions for the facility.

GENTEC supplied a comprehensive range of sanitaryware, tapware, shower systems and temperature control solutions across the hospital, supporting the functional, accessibility and hygiene requirements of the healthcare environment.

Project Requirements

The project required sanitary and plumbing solutions suitable for a modern healthcare facility serving a diverse range of patients and clinical needs.

Key requirements included:
- Purpose-designed clinical basins suitable for healthcare environments
- Accessible basin and sanitaryware solutions
- Hands-free and conventional tapware options for different applications
- Temperature-controlled water delivery for patient and clinical areas
- Anti-ligature solutions where required
- Durable shower and sanitaryware products suitable for healthcare use
- Water-efficient fixtures to support responsible water use
- Solutions that support hygiene, cleaning and ongoing maintenance requirements
- A consistent and coordinated sanitaryware and tapware package across the facility

GENTEC Solution

GENTEC supplied a comprehensive range of products across the Matilda Nepean Private Hospital project, including STERISAN® clinical and accessible basins, STERISAN® sanitaryware and shrouds, SMARTEC electronic sensor plate, NUGEN mixers, CLEANLINE tapware, anti-vandal and handheld shower systems, anti-ligature solutions and FLOMIX thermostatic mixing valves.

The STERISAN® basins feature a rear offset waste design, specifically developed to position the waste fitting away from the direct water stream. This helps minimise water impacting directly into the drain outlet and assists in reducing conditions that may contribute to splash and aerosol generation during use. Sloped bowl surfaces support effective drainage towards the rear waste outlet.

The basin range included different configurations to suit clinical and accessible applications, including Type B and Type C basins, with left- and right-hand shelf options. Matching STERISAN® shrouds were also supplied to provide a clean, integrated installation while enclosing pipework.

For tapware, the project incorporated SMARTEC Zero Lead Stainless Steel electronic sensor plate, alongside NUGEN and CLEANLINE tapware solutions for different applications. This allowed the tapware selection to be matched to the functional requirements of individual areas throughout the hospital.

Temperature management was supported through FLOMIX Thermostatic Mixing Valves, while the shower package included anti-vandal showerheads and handheld shower systems to suit different patient and bathroom requirements.
